Removal and installation

Removal and installation of power shafts carry out together with a nave and a rotary fist, these works are described in Head the Suspension bracket and a steering. Then separate a power shaft from a rotary fist as it is described in the same chapter.

Remove a lock ring from a groove on the internal end of a power shaft as it should be replaced always. If it is necessary to remove only a power shaft, follow subordinate instructions:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Weaken nuts of a wheel and a nut of a rotary fist when the wheel costs on the earth and establish a forward part of the car on support.
  2. Unscrew a brake support from a rotary fist and tie up a wire piece on a forward suspension bracket. Do not leave a support to hang on a brake hose. Any more do not press a brake pedal while the support will not be again established.
  3. Remove a nut of the spherical hinge of steering draft and remove the hinge by means of a suitable stripper from the lever of a steering trapeze (see. The sections Steering without the hydraulic booster and the Steering with the hydraulic booster (servoupravleniye)).
  4. Separate sharnirny connection on the top party of a rotary fist (see. The section the Forward suspension bracket), delay a rotary fist outside and beat out a power shaft from a rotary fist a hammer from light metal. In order to avoid damages of a carving of a power shaft it is necessary to screw a nut on a shaft while the outer side will not be level with shaft again. Watch not to damage thus rubber cuffs of power shafts. Round a rubber cuff it is possible to wind a thick rag. Perhaps, that removal will need a stripper.
  5. Take out a power shaft from a transmission. If the automatic transmission is established, it is necessary to remove the right shaft before it will be possible to squeeze out the left shaft. At shaft removal from a transmission act as follows:
    • At removal of the right shaft (the illustration is lower) without the persistent bearing insert a big screw-driver or the mount, shown on an illustration is lower in a way, in a gap between the hinge and a transmission and squeeze out strong breakthrough of a screw-driver.

To establish a screw-driver behind the hinge of equal angular speeds, to wring out the hinge of equal angular speeds from a transmission (the right power shaft).

    • At removal of the right shaft with the persistent bearing establish a screw-driver on shown on an illustration lower a place and squeeze out a shaft in the same way.

    • At removal of the left power shaft at the established manual transmission it is necessary to use a big screw-driver. Insert it in shown on an illustration lower a place and wring out short breakthrough the screw-driver handle inside that the lock ring of a shaft jumped out of a groove.

    • At removal of the left power shaft at the established automatic transmission work is a little more difficult, as the shaft needs to be beaten out on the other side of a transmission a long screw-driver, which should have an edge passing through not to damage the handle. Installation of a screw-driver is shown from above on an illustration below. The screw-driver should be established on the shown place. Surely watch not to damage thus a gear wheel of differential or a gear wheel shaft. Installation is carried out in return sequence. Always it is necessary to replace an epiploon on the relevant party of a transmission. In masterful Nissans adjusting opravka for epiploons are used. As in most cases such opravka on hand are not available for fans, at a zabivaniye of an epiploon it is necessary to be extremely careful.

  1. Establish for the shaft end a new lock ring and insert a shaft shlitsa into a differential gear wheel. Strongly press a shaft while the lock ring will not be latched in a gear wheel groove. After that strongly pull for a shaft to check, whether the lock ring was latched. All other works carry out in return sequence. After, wheels will stand again on the earth, tighten a nut of a power shaft with effort of 235-310 N • m, establish a clamp of a nut and зашплинтуйте a nut and a clamp of a nut of a shaft.
