Radiator fastening on the injector engine. At the established carburetor engine only one radiator is established

Radiator removal

At removal and installation be guided by an illustration above. On models with the carburetor engine only one fan which is fixed in the same way is established.


  1. Merge cooling liquid as it is described in Head the Current leaving and service.
  2. Disconnect the top and bottom hoses of a radiator from a radiator and the engine, after weakening of shlangovy collars.
  3. On the car with an automatic transmission disconnect inlet and final hoses of a maslookhladitel. Substitute a vessel to collect following oil.
  4. Disconnect the battery.
  5. Disconnect electric cables on the motor or motors of the fan and a thermoswitch.
  6. Weaken fastening nuts on the top party, remove corners and take out a radiator, watching, that honeycombs of radiator did not come across any details of the engine or a body. Rubber support on the bottom party of a casing of the fan can be replaced, if they are in an unsatisfactory condition.
  7. If it is required — remove from a radiator the established casing or separate guards.


Installation is carried out in return sequence. At suspicion of malfunction of water hoses it is necessary to replace them. Do not forget to connect tips of motors of fans and a thermoswitch. Fill in cooling liquid as it is described in Head the Current leaving and service. After warming up of the engine check tightness of all connections. Also check, that motors of fans joined and switched off.

Radiator and cover check

If there is a pump for pressure forcing in a radiator, it is possible to establish it on a radiator and to create pressure 1.6 bar. Pressure in system should not fall. If pressure falls, is taken place leaks. In this case establish the car on a dry place to define, where cooling liquid follows.

By means of the same pump it is possible to check pressure of opening of the valve in a cover. Establish the pump on a cover and put it in action. At value of pressure 0.9 bar pressure should fall down at once, i.e. in a cover the valve opens. If it does not occur, it is necessary to replace a cover. Not opening valve quickly leads to an engine overheat. If the valve gets jammed abroach, in system pressure cannot be created.

Water pump

The water pump does not understand and in case of failure or damage is replaced. Check a gap of a shaft of the bearing in the bearing and a krylchatka on rust existence. In the pump laying is not used, it means, for installation of the pump good hermetic should be used.

Removal and pump installation


  1. Merge cooling liquid as it is described in Head the Current leaving and service.
  2. Weaken bolts of fastening of a belt pulley of the water pump.
  3. Thus press a hand a belt that the pulley was not turned.
  4. Weaken bolts of fastening of the generator on the generator and on an adjusting bracket and remove maple a belt.
  5. Completely unscrew a remenny pulley of the water pump.
  6. Unscrew the water pump and remove it. At once carefully remove all remains of hermetic from the pump and the block of cylinders by means of a shaber.
Check of the water pump on damages of bearings or wear. The form of a belt pulley on these engines can differ.
  1. Holding the pump in one hand, other hand turn a nave of a belt pulley, as is shown in an illustration above. At an unsatisfactory condition of the bearing in a hand non-uniform movement will be felt. In this case always it is necessary to replace the pump. Krylchatka on inside of the pump should not be subject to a rust. At installation of the water pump to put on all perimeter of a sealing surface a hermetic strip in thickness of 2-3 mm and establish the pump in return sequence. In summary fill in cooling liquid and check on leak existence. Adjust a belt tension as it is described in Head the Current leaving and service.
