Check and adjustment of turns of idling of the engine and level WITH

Two times year or each 10000 km of run (that will come earlier)

Idling is regulated at plant and additional adjustment it is not required.

Only if the contents WITH the ambassador of long operation ceases to correspond to norms, the carburetor should be adjusted.

Carburetor

Before check and adjustment the following details should be in a faultless condition:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. At the established servoupravleniye establish forward wheels in average situation. It is necessary to cock the hand brake.
    • The battery should be charged.
    • Levels of impellent oil and cooling liquid should correspond to demanded values.
    • All vacuum hoses should be connected.
    • The system of absorption of air should be tight.
    • Cylinders should have a good compression.
    • The system of return of the fulfilled gases should work faultlessly.
    • The butterfly valve should open and be closed well.
    • Disconnect everything consumers of the electric power, for example, headlights, the heater fan, a heater of back glass etc.
    • The fan of cooling should not work.
  1. Warm up the engine, i.e. the arrow of the remote thermometer should stand on the average situation. During adjustment the engine should keep the working temperature, i.e. the engine in pauses should be started again to warm up it. The engine should work with number of turns less than 1000 rpm.
  2. Connect a tachometer according to the maintenance instruction.
  3. Start the engine and take a detached view a viewing window of the carburetor check, that level of fuel was on the average line.
  4. Disperse the engine on two or three minutes to number of turns of 2000-3000 rpm and then let's work one minute on idling.
  5. Remove on a tachometer value of single turns. The engine should work with number of turns 750±50 in rpm.
  6. If the number of turns of idling does not correspond to demanded value, rotate the screw while value will not lie in demanded limits. If value of idling is not possible to adjust, and all listed above system in a good condition, carburetor replacement can be demanded.
The bolt with a nakatka serves for carburetor adjustment.
  1. Muffle the engine. The tachometer remains is connected.
  2. In the middle of a cover of a final collector disconnect the tip a lambda probe. The second tip should be disconnected from the valve of adjustment of soaked-up air. It is in the situation shown on an illustration on the right side of the ignition coil before a suspension bracket rack (if to face an impellent compartment).

  1. On the right, near the heat-shielding screen of a final collector, it is possible to see an intaking tube for contents measurement WITH. Remove a cap of a tube and connect the device for measurement WITH according to instructions. Connection between the measuring device and a tube should be tight.
  2. Start the engine, disperse it to 2000-3000 rpm and then return on single turns. Consider instrument readings. Value should lie in limits 1.0±0.5 %. If the contents WITH does not correspond to demanded value, it is necessary to rotate the adjusting screw inserted into the block of butterfly valves. It is closed by a seal not to allow unauthorized rotation. As the carburetor is necessary for removing except other and to drill a seal, this work is recommended to be carried out a specialized workshop. On an illustration the seal site is shown. If work is carried out independently, it is impossible to drill a seal too deeply. After seal drilling again establish the carburetor and rotate the screw which was inside a usual screw-driver while value WITH will not lie in necessary limits. After adjustment once again check idling and in summary insert into an opening a new seal. For this purpose it is not required to remove the carburetor.
The seal (1) for the screw of adjustment of the contents WITH in the case of a butterfly valve (2) can be drilled in the specified way by means of a drill (3).

Cars without the catalyst

Idling is regulated, as well as on models with the catalyst, however the special screw-driver which is inserted into notches of the adjusting screw (see an illustration below), a tachometer and for achievement of the best results the device for contents measurement WITH is necessary for adjustment of structure of a mix. In case of need works can be carried out and without the last device if accurately to follow instructions, however it is necessary to remember laws on environmental protection.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. First adjust idling.
  2. Make already described preparatory operations and take readings of a tachometer. If single turns lie out of limits 750±50 rpm, idling is necessary for adjusting. The adjusting screw of single turns looks also, as is shown in an illustration. Check the contents WITH by means of the corresponding device, if necessary adjust.

Without a contents measuring instrument WITH

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check, that the engine had the working temperature.
  2. For adjustment of structure of a mix there is a screw under the screw of adjustment of idling. Completely screw this screw by means of a special screw-driver (not too strongly) and turn out on two complete revolutions. Single turns should increase thus by 50 rpm, in comparison with already available value.
  3. By means of a special screw-driver turn the adjusting screw of structure of a mix that the engine worked with the greatest possible number of turns. After that screw the screw of adjustment of idling while the engine will not work with the number of turns corresponding to Specifications. The contents WITH should correspond more or less to demanded value, i.e. should lie in limits 1.5±0.5 %.

By means of a contents measuring instrument WITH

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Adjust idling as it was already described.
  2. Check, that the engine still had the working temperature.
  3. Connect a contents measuring instrument WITH. The hose should be moved into an exhaust pipe a minimum on 40 see.
  4. Through a viewing window of the carburetor check, that level of fuel stood on the average line.
  5. By means of a special screw-driver turn the screw of adjustment of structure of a mix so that the device showed value 1.5±0.5 to %.
  6. Repeat the described adjustments while the contents WITH and number of turns will not correspond to demanded values.

System of multiitem injection

Idling and contents adjustment WITH is usually supported automatically by a monitor, however it is possible that it is necessary to carry out adjustment if after long operation idling does not correspond to requirements. It is best of all to address in Nissan workshop, however if accurately to follow the following description, it is possible to adjust idling independently.

Before check and adjustment should be satisfied the following conditions, i.e. following elements and systems should be in a faultless condition.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Establish forward wheels in average situation, tighten the hand brake.
  2. The battery should be well charged.
  3. The system of ignition should be in a good condition and work faultlessly.
  4. Level of impellent oil and cooling liquid should correspond to demanded values.
  5. All vacuum hoses should be connected.
  6. The system of absorption of air should be tight.
  7. The compression of cylinders should correspond to demanded values.
  8. The butterfly valve should open and be closed completely.
  9. All safety locks should be inserted.
  10. Switch off everything consumers of the electric power, i.e., for example, headlights, the heater fan, a heater of back glass etc.
  11. At contents measurement WITH insert a measuring tube of the device in exhaust at least on 40 see.
  12. On automatic transmission establish the lever in the situation "N".
  13. Disconnect the conditioner.
  14. The fan of cooling should not work.
  15. At check of idling act as follows:
  16. Warm up the engine, i.e. the arrow of the remote thermometer should be on the average situation. At adjustment the engine should have working temperature, i.e. the engine in pauses again start and warm up. The engine should work with number of turns less than 1000 rpm.
  17. Muffle the engine and connect a tachometer according to the instruction.
  18. On the switched-off engine find the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve (see an illustration) and disconnect the tip. Start the engine.
  19. Disperse the engine for 2 or 3 minutes to 2000-3000 rpm and then leave for two minutes to idle.
  20. Take readings from a tachometer. The engine should work with number of turns of 800 rpm.
  21. If value of idling does not correspond demanded, turn the screw (1) (see an illustration below) while the number of turns will not reach demanded value. At rotation to the left the number of turns decreases, at rotation to the right increases. If value of single turns is not possible to establish, and all above-named systems and elements in a good condition, it is necessary to address in Nissan workshop.

  1. Muffle the engine. The tachometer remains is connected.
  2. Muffle the engine, connect the tip of the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve and again start the engine.
  3. Disperse the engine 2-3 times to 2000 rpm and take readings of idling and a tachometer. The number of turns should lie in limits 850±50 rpm. Unsatisfactory idling can be caused by the valve of additional air, its cables or an electronic monitor.
  4. Measure the contents WITH according to the instruction to the measuring device. If value is not equal 0.5 %, it is necessary to find the reason for that in a workshop. Exact measurement and contents adjustment WITH it is interfaced to some difficulties and consequently it is not described.

System of the central injection

The system of injection regulates idling automatically on a preset value.

Idling is regulated by exact adjustment of amount of air which bypasses a butterfly valve via the valve of additional air. The valve of additional air joins and switched off precisely to operate amount of air. The sensor of an angle of rotation of the crankshaft traces exact number of turns of the engine and gives information in a monitor. On the basis of the received data the monitor includes or switches off the valve of additional air to support number of turns of idling on previously programmed value. Other factors, such as, engine warming up, movement nakaty, fuel consumption and engine loading (the conditioner, electric loading) are automatically estimated and compensated.

Though usually it is not required, idling can be checked and be regulated. Before check and adjustment should be fulfilled the requirements provided for system of multiitem injection. Check of idling is carried out the same as is described above for the carburetor. Cars with a manual and automatic transmission have identical number of turns of idling.

Air filter

The air filter has a paper element which is not subject to cleaning. The filtering element should be replaced each two years or through each 60000 km. For removal of an element to remove a cover and to take out an old element. On fig. removal of a filtering element on both engines above is shown. It is necessary to remove the gathered dust from the filter case by means of a rag. To insert a new filtering element and to establish a cover into place.
