Removal of a brake drum/disk and nave

Removal of a brake drum together with a nave. (1) it is necessary to hold the external bearing of a nave with a finger.

To check bearings of back naves on wear or damages, establish the car on support and, having grasped a wheel from two parties, to move and delay it, as is shown in an illustration. Excessive люфт points to damages of bearings. For the second check quickly turn a wheel several times and pay attention to noise.

Too big люфт at the first check can point to bad adjustment of the bearing of a nave. To define, whether have bearings too big axial люфт, it can be checked after unscrewing of back wheels. For this purpose establish the tsiferblatny indicator on a back suspension bracket and establish measuring щуп on an external edge of a brake drum or outer side of a nave. Move a drum forward-back and take readings on the indicator. If value exceeds 0.05 mm, it is necessary to replace bearings, so possibility of adjustment is absent. Bearings of a nave do not demand maintenance. As and in case of removal, a nave and the bearing it is necessary to replace together, for no particular reason to remove a nave it is not necessary.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Bring down a lubricant cap. Turn a brake drum evenly to bring down a cap. Erase all superfluous greasing from a nave nut.
  2. Take out from a nut шплинт and weaken a nave nut.
  3. Establish a back part of the car on support and remove a wheel.
  4. Completely unscrew a nave nut.
  5. At the established disk brakes remove a brake support, without unscrewing a brake hose.
  6. Remove a brake drum or a brake disk and remove a nave from an axis. If the nave sits very strongly, to try to use a stripper. It is possible to leave a brake drum on a nave. At removal of a brake drum or a nave hold both thumbs of hands the external bearing of a nave that it did not drop out (see an illustration). If acted in film, it is necessary to replace the bearing and a nave together.

Installation of the bearing of a nave

At installation of a nave act in return sequence. Consider the following:

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Put on a drum with a nave or a nave an axis and completely hammer a plastic hammer.
  2. Screw a new nut (with a washer) on an axis of a nave and tighten with effort of 186-255 N • Zashplintuyte's m a nut.
  3. Hammer a lubricant cap of a nave on a nave.
  4. Establish a wheel, lower the car.
